Scala Inc, a full service digital signage software provider announced that their certified partner, UnoLink, is launching a new digital signage product called "VideoMenu" into the Latin American market. The technology replaces traditional static meunboards with distance-controlled digital signage displays that are to be strategically placed. The initial launch took place in a Cines Unidos movie theatre location above the consession stands, and , are now available in over 24 theatres nationwide. Through the VideoMenu software and system, plasma displays will present food and beverage menus via video feeds. The company intends to expand VideoMenu to display menus at food and beverage retailers everywhere. As we all know, the benefits of going digital with your in-store signage are clear. Your consumers receive dynamic and stunning previews of your offering, which can only have a positive impact on their purchase decision, and ultimately boost your sales and revenue. Luis Ginestra, who is the Concessions Manager for Cines Unidos, oversaw the installation of the VideoMenu digital signage screens. He comments: "We at Cines Unidos strive to redefine the movie-going experience, so our clientele is constantly amazed. We operate at a technological and service vanguard within the country." VideoMenu technology was developed by borrowing unique components from Scala's InfoChannel TM software, and by using video components that were developed in-house by UnoLink. The VideoMenu digital signage offering allows full service remote administration, including priving adjustments, special offer broadcasts, and menu updates. The best part is that this can be done instantly across multiple locations, even nationally. UnoLink designs and updates all of the content, and serve it all up from an extensive databank of photographs, animation, video, graphics, and custom images. They broadcast everything in high-definition which increases the senses and emotions of the patrons, which in turn increases the chance of an impulse purchase of a product that is offered on-screen. Daniel Benaim, President of UnoLink remarked: "We substitute static images that merely portray the product with video and animation providing a preliminary sensory experience, resulting in tangible sales growth. Additionally, VideoMenu influences customers at the moment of acquisition [which assists in] influencing last minute purchase decisions." VideoMenus are controlled by a single "InfoChannel Player," and because all of the content and information is passed from a single database, edits and adjustments are quick and easy, distribution costs are eliminated, and delpoyment of updated or edited content can be done in an extremely efficient manner. VideoMenu supports customization of displays by time and location, allowing retailers to capitalize on local tastes and consumption habits throughout the day, maximizing spend. For example, Cines Unidos chooses to display offering that appeal to children during matinee showtimes, and then in early evening, they reconfigure the digital displays to cater to an older audience. This allows them to constantly show advertising that pertinent to each target market group.
