Digital Signage Reaches 14 Billion by 2017

According to an article found on DigitalSignageToday.com, a new report was released from Global Industry Analysts Inc., which states that the "global digital signage market should hit nearly $14 billion by 2017." There has been a remarkable change over the past few years from static advertising displays to interactive marketing strategies. Fewer newspapers and outdoor advertising billboards are being created while more digital displays are being put into place. Not only do digital advertisements save money in the long run, but they also update instantly and can therefore always display relevant information.

Another great feature of digital signage is the ability to target specific customers, especially those of younger generations, who are more comfortable with technology and its incorporation into one's day-to-day life. Schools and Universities, for example, are incorporating electronic media displays throughout a campus so students can remain informed. Digital signage is a great communication tool for educational environments as it can pair informational displays with entertainment. The information can also be instantly updated with a simple click of a button. There is no need to run to a printer or to set up each individual monitor. Many of the digital signage solutions currently available use a web-based content management system to universally update a presentation. Communication throughout an office, community center or churches is also improved with the implementation of digital signage. Have an upcoming event that you want local residents to attend? Need to remind staff members of an important guideline? Digital signage provides users with an easy-to-use tool for spreading information to a wider audience.

With digital advertising and communication becoming more widely accepted, more and more software providers are trying to jump on the bandwagon of success. This is the time to become more critical of your service provider, making sure their offerings match your individual needs. If you want to have multiple monitors throughout a building of campus, web-based content management would probably be the best solution. This way you, you can remotely manage all of the content through the Internet, instantly updating information with the click of a mouse. For smaller, one-monitor venues, such as within a church foyer, a simple plug-n-play unit may be all you need. We encourage you to incorporate digital signage into your communication system and advertising plans; however this is an investment and something that should not be taken lightly. Do the research. Ask the questions. Match the right company, the right product and the right software to your individual needs.
