Tim Hortons Digital Signage
Tim Hortons Digital Signage
For Tim Hortons, seeing truly IS believing. I pass a Tim horton's outlet daily on my way to the office, and then one day, my head turned so fast in the direction of the menu board, I almost smacked head first in to another onlooker. What grabbed my attention was not so much the oh so sweet smell of coffee and doughnuts, but was the new, vibrant, 42 inch display that replaced one of the panels in the overhead menu board. Tim Horton's paired up with London, Ont. based EK3 to install the digital signage behind the counters in their stores. EK3 also came up with the content displayed on Tim's digital signage, with the help of a friend's design firm. Tim Horton's keep their digital signage displays dynamic by changing the clips depending on the time of day. They appear to be attempting to entice consumers to consider alternative choices to what they would normally order. This is evident where during the lunch period, enticing displays of doughnuts are shown on the digital signage boards. They even go as far as to use the digital displays to promote their national "don't litter" campaign, says a press release on their web site outlining their participation in April 16ths Earth Week.
