Digital Signage Equipment Saves Lives
On September 15, 2010, Infinitus & Adlife Media Point installed the first-ever inmotion HELP totem/ digital signage display in Budapest, Hungary. The two companies have joined forces to incorporate life-saving tools into digital signage presentational displays. This digital signage totem is a double-sided 52" portrait LCD TV monitor, used for displaying advertising graphics or promotional material outdoors. The digital signage totem is also equipped with an automatic external defibrillator (AED) device for fast-acting individuals to respond to sudden cardiac arrest; the biggest cause of death in the world.
In addition to saving lives, this digital signage display stand is currently being used to educate passersby of the dangers of SCA & what they can do to prevent it. When immediate defibrillation is used, sufferers have a survival rate of 75%; 5% without. This digital signage composite of life-saving devices & informative advertisements is truly an innovative idea. We see this technique of promotional advertising, as well as public service announcements, as an incredibly effective way to communicate a particular message. We would not be surprised if, in the near future, similar concepts & digital signage equipment are developed & used throughout the world.
Why not use similar digital signage equipment to communicate the harmful effects of smoking? While the advertisements could display how horrible cigarette smoking truly is, a side area could distribute samples of electronic cigarettes or maybe even takeaway literature. By incorporating digital signage advertising into a static display stand, such as this totem, as well as providing a more interactive presentation, be it simple touch screen setups or the ability to save someone's life, if & when necessary, passersby will be drawn to this new form of marketing. Without knowing how these companies prevent vandals from misusing the AED, We give this concept two thumbs up for its originality.
