Cellular Connected Digital Signage Network by IGC and Helius
Helius Incorporated has partnered with Internet Connectivity Group (ICG) to deliver digital signage solutions over a cellular network. Helius Inc., provider of business-class IP video solutions will be combining the use of thier MediaGate router with ICG's Top Global USA MobileBridge 3G (Third Generation) wireless-router products. The two companies will utilize Sprint's nationwide Power Vision network. The two companies hope to use their hardware to bring digital connectivity to the IP video industry, which they say should enable digital signage users to deploy systems at a faster rate. They also referenced how their product will help improve distance learning application deployment. Kim Clark, chief technology officer of Helius says that "The ICG products are a great fit and expand connectivity options for our customers. By combining the flexibility of cellular connections with Helius' sophisticated IP video hardware and software, our customers can quickly and inexpensively install top quality IP video systems anywhere there is a cell signal." The major benefit of a cellular connected digital signage network is that it enables digital-signage and distance-learning applications to be deployed in remote locations where wired Internet connectivity is unavailable or expensive. By eliminating the need for extended cabling, 3G cellular can simplify the installation of IP video solutions, and reduce the overall time required for implementation.
